Bienvenue, pronounced (Ben-vah-new) is the name of my family's land that was a once a thriving rice plantation  located on the Pee Dee river here in wonderful Georgetown. Bienvenue means "Welcome" in French and was the name chosen to rename Waterfield Plantation, purchased by my grandparents. Originally the land was a kings grant barony for the Duke of Beaufort and included Dirleton, which was Richfield and Springfield that still retains the original name!

The plantation was hundreds of acres spanning across the Waccamaw. You can see a wonderful home and period rice storage barn among other buildings to this day!
